Great staff providing great care.

One of the best medical practises in Scotland. I have been a patient at Ashfield Surgery for over twenty years. I really wish people who left this sort of review didn't think they were writing for Trip Advisor. Ashfield is a wonderful group of professional men and women who are involved with constant care of their community. I am biased. They have saved my life quite literally twice. We should all be glad they are around.Medicine practised the old way, with dedication.

Only thing saving this from a one star is the fact that the doctors are so good with kids. It is impossible to get an appointment and their phone system is flawed (I've been on hold for 35mins before and found it faster to walk to the surgery and make an appointment while I was still on hold - I was told I wasn't on hold for this time but I have a screenshot of my phone showing it!) It can be very difficult to get past the receptionsts to make an appointment, they seem to be able to decide if we need an appointment of not. I've complained about how difficult it is and suggested that if the recptionists are given the authority to determine if a call was urgent or not they should perhaps have some triage training.

I have been a patient here all my 62 years on this earth and consider it to be the finest Doctors surgery I could ask for!As for criticism about not getting an appointment I can honestly say I have never had this problem! The receptionist do a remarkable job considering how difficult patients can be!

The Medical Centre has a nice and pleasant staff - problem is, that it is close to impossible to get an appointment. I have personally tried for 3 months time now to get an appointment. I have tried to pre-book weeks in advance (when I knew I had a day off) and every time they refer to calling at 08:30 for same or next day appointments since they don't have any and that is their system. When you to call at 08:30, the line is either busy or there is no appointments available anyway when you happen to get through after calling over and over for an hours time. I have no idea about the logic of this "system" and I'm pretty sure it can be done more efficiently. This is used primarily by people 50+ and especially pensioners, so this is almost designed for people that does not work and are able to waste so much time getting just an appointment. I will of course try and find a more "normal" medical practice.
